Microsoft Project – 2-Day Intensive Course

This course equips participants with the practical skills to plan, schedule, manage, and track projects using Microsoft Project. The course focuses on hands-on learning, from basic project setup to tracking performance and generating reports.

PMI Professional Development Units (PDUs)

This course qualifies for 14 PDUs toward your PMI® certification or renewal requirements. PMI® Talent Triangle PDUs:

  • Power Skills = 1

  • Business Acumen = 1


Delivery Format

This course is offered in both Live Online and In-Person formats. You may choose to attend fully online via our instructor-led Virtual sessions, or join us In-Person (where available).


Overview 

Day 1: Building a Solid Project Schedule

1. Introduction to Microsoft Project

2. Creating a New Project

3. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

4. Task Dependencies and Constraints

5. Scheduling and the Critical Path

6. Hands-On Exercise


End of Day Outcome: Participants will have created a fully logic-linked project schedule, structured by WBS, with accurate dependencies and critical path identified in Microsoft Project.


Day 2: Resource Management, Tracking & Reporting

1. Resource & Cost Management

2. Creating a Baseline

3. Tracking Progress

4. Analyzing Performance

5. Custom Views, Filters, and Tables

6. Reports and Exporting

7. Final Hands-On Exercise


End of Day Outcome: Participants will be able to baseline, update, track, and report on project progress using MS Project tools and best practices.
